Electronic Data Processing
Whether you wish to review your electronic data as images, or whether you prefer the increasingly-common and cost-efficient native file review, processing of that data is required before it can be reviewed, regardless of the software or platform in which you will conduct the review. Every e-mail, every attachment, and every free-standing electronic document has to be converted to a common format that consists generally of a database record with basic heading information about the document (Date, From, To, CC, Subject line, etc.), the full text of the document, a link to the native file of the electronic document itself, and optionally, an image of that document in TIFF or PDF format. It is often during the processing stage that de-duplication is performed, though this can also happen in the earlier pre-processing culling stage.
ESI Specialists Inc. uses the latest and most-efficient electronic data processing software, capable of handling hundreds of file types with the fewest exceptions, and delivering an accurate and complete data set ready for loading either into your in-house review software such as Summation or Concordance, or to a web-based review platform such as our kCura Relativity or Access Data CaseVantage tools.
